Peacocks are known for their flashy tail feathers that are even bigger than their bodies. These tail feathers spread out like a stunning fan that flaunts an intricate pattern of different colors and eye-like adornments. These fancy tails open up to a massive size, with the tips of both sides so heavy for the small creature they even touch the ground.

The elaborate feather trains, as scientists have observed, are a tool male peacocks use to seduce their female counterparts. Hence, this feature on their anatomy plays an important part in their mating and courtship rituals. Often, the females would prefer one peacock over another based on the tail’s colors, size and quality.
