Usage of Articles
English grammar has 2 articles, the and a/an. A/an is used to modify non-specific or
non-particular nouns. For example, " I want to buy a book."Here, it means that I want
to buy any book, not a specific book. It's like, "I want to buy any book. I
don't have any specific book in mind."
If A/an is used to refer to non-specific nouns, the refers to specific nouns. For example, "I want to buy the book." Here, I am talking about a
specific book. Another example is, "I bought the best-selling book of this
year." There are many books, but only a specific book is the best-seller.
